I am a recent forces leaver after serving 8 years within the first royal tank regiment.
When i first left i found it extremely hard to find a job and be excepted into the civilian community, after several months of hard work i finally got a job as an administrator for a large company, as you would expect this did not work out as planned. There is a difference between working in the field and working in the office, and as i was a field soldier there was not much chance of it lasting. I gave this venture up and decided i needed to work outdoors. The problem with this as i found not many people were quick to employ someone that was in the army or any forces, this i found strange due to the strict regime of the forces. After several more months of endless searching i gave up. Due to my experience i decided to join a company that employs x forces due to the vast experience on the ground and in the office (surprisingly). Currently i work with a team of 5 x force members and i feel that this works extremely well due to the knowledge and experience gained throughout there careers. I still feel that there should be some sort of project to get x forces into the work place, how can an employer or anyone feel that they will not benefit from having an x forces person as a member of there team.
